The Sea is my Mistress started as an early sketch idea for another project that ended up not being used. I liked the initial idea behind it a lot, so I developed it further. As a simple portrait, to give it character I decided to narrate through facial expression and to cause the viewer to question the ambiguity to this man's demeanor
